I've been wanting to build a fatbike with a Bafang M620 one of these days, but I came across a Haibike Fat Six with a Bosch Performance Line CX motor for what looks like a reasonable deal.

The only thing is I'm turned off the Bosch motor as I'm used to being able to customize the bafang drive...I'm assuming the Bosch CX can't be used with throttle only OR can it be easily tuned or used with other displays...is that correct?

Can the older Bosch CX's be used with other brand of batteries or is it tied to Bosch only batteries? Not sure what gen Bosch it is...but looks like a 2021 build.

Here's a few photos of the bike and motor in question.

Thanks for the advice!

As far as I know, the Bosch drives will only work with a Bosch battery and they can't be reprogrammed unless you have the factory programming tool, which only dealers can get (or afford).

I wonder if the EU right to repair legislation will affect Bosch, at least in Europe.
