The electric supermoto project I have been working on has finally reached near completion. Although there are some upgrades I would like yet, the bike is still more than capable and without a doubt the best riding and my cleanest looking build (in my opinion) yet.
Specs are as follows:
Evelbike frameset with moto seat
Marzocchi 888 front fork
Fox 4.0 Rear suspension
Avid BB7 brakes
Brakco 203mm floating rotors
17" x 1.6" rims
Hutchinson GP1 moped tire 2.75" front
Sava MC50 100/80 rear (4")
QS 205 v3 (5t soon to be replaced with 3.5t) motor
Greentime 36fet 4110 controller
20s 20ah (and 20c discharge) LiPo
Top speed = about 45mph (60mph with 3.5t)
Acceleration 0-30mph less than 2 seconds
Cruising at 30mph with passenger (275lb load + 120lb bike) is around 1.5kw depending on wind and grade of road. Easily 20-30 mile range with passenger - perfect for around Milwaukee.
On May 28 I raced in St. Louis at the Penrose park Velodrome with the STL MB Club. Racing in the electric class I managed to place 1st place. Speeds out of turns I was at about 41mph (radar verified). It was a great experience and awesome event that I hope to race again with more electric riders and hopefully gas as well.
