No one knows what Starlink regular user internet customer price will cost and be, I can't help but put my business thinking cap on and assume it will be around 1.5x the cost of your average metro-city broadband link.Dauntless said:What is Starlink looking like it'll cost (You buy a receiver?)
This extra cost would be because of the exclusivity of the product.
It's also important to note that Starlink is only going to be marketed to people in remote areas where they have little to no choices in broadband. This is because the more people who connect to Starlink inside a dense footprint (like 1 square-mile) the slower the wireless speed gets because everyone in that square mile will be downloading via the exact same Starlink satellite radio band beam.

However, while download speeds of more than 100Mbps might have some people thinking about switching internet providers to Starlink whenever it becomes available (there’s still no official launch date), it’s important to remember that Starlink was never designed to be a real competitor to terrestrial ISPs, but more of a better alternative to DSL or single-point satellite-based internet for people living in rural areas.
It's possible Elon Musk might allow some kind of "Insane Elon Musk Fan Boi Starlink metro link plan" Where you can use Starlink in a city-metro area if you are willing to pay 20x times the cost of regular city broadboand/rural Starlink users.
It kind of looks like he is heading that way, just a tiny bit at leastDauntless said:and does Elon look like your pictures already? (Haven't seen him in a bit.)
He is looking a tiny bit chunky-broader and grandiose, but I guess when you become richer than Mark Zuccerberg and have actually helped enable some technology that a lot of people might like, then that is bound to happen.
