Help , Problem with my E-Bike build...

Just put togather a beach cruiser with a 36 volt, 500 watt front tire kit I've had on another bike i didn't like. So anyway. The motor works fine when on bike stand. But when I ride it after about five minutes when I'm going a little faster the motor cuts off and won't work again until I turn it off , wait a few minutes then turn it back on. And again same thing. ANY IDEAS OUT THERE.

I have that happen when battery is weak, or it's too small for the motor/bike.

If your bike shows the voltage. should be around 42 volts at full charge. Anything below 34 volts is around 70% discharged and quit likely to shutdown under heavy load with a too-small battery,.
