i solder the 9 pin plug leads to the underside of the pcb where the sense wire plug is soldered.

leaving the cellogs attached does keep the top two cells in each 8S group higher than the lower 6 cells since the cellogs use power from the top of the 6th cell in the series.

how is it configured/ calibrated then?

during the order process you can define lvc, hvc etc.
there is no diy calibration. it's all hardware, and there are no potis.

ok I get it. Thanks for clearing this. sounds like an analog approach with simple voltage comparators between the cells

this is the balancing board with LVC and HVC signal trace layouts. the 4 parallel 100 ohm 2512 get hot but it can shunt 175mA.
