There is probably a thread on here about the Nidec system but my search function isn't working....

This came across my screen today and led me to the mtb version. As a road type engine this will probably appeal to the roadies that think a little motor is all they need

The 700w version seems pretty good in that it is 700w and 90nm and relatively light @ 3.5kg. Wonder if you can hook a throttle up to it?

Expensive, weak, heavy. Fix at least one of those to get a worthwhile drive.

Did you see a price? And 3.5kg is in there as far as other systems go. If they went to a mag case like Brose did it would help shed some of that.

700w may be considered weak here on endless sphere, and I have been on here for years and know this. However I find for mtb use an efficient 700w system would be fine for my style of techy single track as much as possible riding.

I have 1000w front hub systems on my road bikes and weight be damned, although my Any Axle is on par with a geared drive, and find the mo power thing good for that type of riding. The important thing for me with them is that my input is totally isolated from the drive system and I can pedal along seamlessly without a sensor dictating my pedal stroke.
