I live in rural Vermont and need to find tires able to roll fast on pavement, but will still bite in while riding the dirt roads. I only ride the dirt roads when they're hard packed. I tried riding once after the road was graded and almost did a face plant :? It was like driving into quicksand!!! Loose gravel is a joy also, and can chew up a set of tire in no time!!

The tires that came with the bike are great for dirt but don't roll worth a dam on pavement, don't look all that durable either!! Just looking for someone who is dealing with the same riding condition, who has used and can recommend the best tires for task 8)

Not sure if there is a good solution. Good gravel tires are always going to feel squirrily on wet pavement.

Good street tires are useless in gravel.

Maybe you could substitute size and inflation?

A set of Schwalbe Fat Franks? ... lower pressure to 35 in gravel, and pump up to 60 on pavement?

Thanks, The Schwalbe Fat Franks are the best I've seen so far
