interesting. 18 gears in crank, a tad on the heavy side but seem to be build strong.

Too bad it didn't dawn on them to make just a 3 speed, so it could be built stronger and useful for electric and pedal input. Flipping through 18 electric gears would be silly.

Pinion is indeed working on an electric drive. A prototype ha been shown with 8 pedal and electric gears. That will be awesome!!

The gearbox dosen't see to be designed for a standard bottom bracket. It looks like you need a tube to screw it into? Is this correct?

You need a custom made frame to incorporate the gearbox. German Nicolai makes some frames with the pinion gearbox. The gearbox can not be bought by persons, only corporations with a frame designed.

Yes it looks like you need a frame modification or a specialframe.
Maybe it is possible to intergrate it in a mid drive

Damn, going to be out of my price range. Nicely integrated package. Wish they would sell a development kit like Fallbrook did.
