Open Source 12kW PFC Smart EV Charger - from $999

Nice - synchronpous rectification -

E305 cores - yikes - thats a HUGE core, I've only used ETD59's, thats something like an E80 isn't it... I see why you went to toroids.

Yeah, toroids are way nicer from space / thermal point of view. Thermal was the main reason we went from E to T cores - nice having all your wire in one layer... You can go fewer strands -> more turns -> higher inductance -> lower flux swing -> lower losses in core -> easier to manage heating.

Pain to wind (read: expensive) and mount, though.

The previous version schematics is at http://www.emotorwerks.com/VMcharger_V12P/. We are refactoring the newest version files and will post soon but the prev version should give you a good idea - it's 90% the same.
Is there a PDF/PNG? I can only see a *.pcb file format. Which app opens it?

Serial control just been implemented - see post 1302 on this page: http://www.diyelectriccar.com/forums/showthread.php/10kw-60a-diy-charger-open-source-59210p66.html. This already can be used to do what you want (albeit over serial, not CAN - yet). CAN is on the roadmap and will require control board swap. Or you can just wire the charge up to something like AVR-CAN https://www.olimex.com/Products/AVR/Development/AVR-CAN/ and write a simple sketch for command translation.

V
When you add CAN bus, please make it isolated. For example with ISO1050.

Expresspcb - its a free download comes with the free schematic editors well.

Interesting project. Quick look, I couldn't find a schematic of it. Do you guys publish one?

yes but newest not available yet. just uploaded the previous version - take a look
Valerun, I looked quite a bit on many of your pages but could not find a hotlink to the old schematic.

Is is possible for you to provide the hot link?
