Hi there!

I'd like to ask you guys if somebody know if it's possible to install a BBSHD in a bike with a Shimano SM-BB71-41A Press Fit (Super Single Pivot system) bottom bracket shell? Is there any kind of adapters or a way to it?

Here is the bike that i'd like to install the BBSHD

thanks...

Two potential issues I see here is:

1. Press fit - But a quick google says that adaptors for the BBSHD is available.

2. That bottom bracket is 104mm wide. The BBSHD comes in 100mm and 120mm. Spacers?

3. Not sure if you can use press fit and spacers.

Sorry I can't be much more help than that, but you got me curious so I looked at other people trying the same thing. Hopefully the above information speeds it up for a more experienced bike mechanic to give you a more definitive answer.

Hi Sunder, thanks for the reply!

I found some adapters for press fit, but for Press Fit 30, not the 41!

I'm not so worried about the wide, i think spacers could work!? (or maybe i'll have some problems with the chain being on the right place!?), i'm more worried about the shell's diameter! As i could see, the shell diameter is bigger than the BBSHD, am i right? The SM-BB71-41A has 41mm, what about the BBSHD? (I cant find infos about the bottom bracket diameter)

I found a interesting article speaking about BBSxx motors and bottom brackets, maybe it will help you to help me! ;)
