Switch mode supply mod

i have a question

are the sp320-48 without the shunt on the output the wrong type for charging?

my sp-200-48 charges at 5A with no mods without overheating

here is a pic of mine:

any help appreciated :)

Yep, unfortunately that model won't do constant current mode. It goes into 'hiccup' protection mode when you reach the current limit.

thanks for that info.

any idea if i can lower the voltage to 24/30v so i can use it with my rc charger? (max volts is 30 for rc charger)

There is a limit to how low it can go, usually about 1/2 the nominal voltage so it should make it.

You need to add a resistor but I'm not sure of the exact location.

The resistor with the arrow pointing to it will raise the voltage if we parallel one across it. I think the one labeled R55 is the one you want to mess with to make it go lower. You could try placing a 10K or 4.7K across it while measuring the output voltage and see if it drops. With the right resistor, you can get the adjustment pot to have the desired voltage range.
