Switched Reluctance Motors

Any updates?
A motor that has zero iron losses in 'unexcited' condition is, indeed, great for e-bike because you can have efficient human power under intermittent operation (hills, accelerations) AND regen braking.
By the way, do IPM motors (there are some middrives already available) have less iron losses compared to PM motors?
I really want ultimate range from my diy velomobile w/o installing a ton of batteries, and I want regen AND efficient pedalling. Making a manual clutch may work as well, but fiddly...
