The Sun Trip

When I heard about The Sun Trip last year, a 7,200 km (4,500 mile) 35 member race by solar e-bikes and e-trikes from France to Kazakhstan, I was impressed both by the tech and by the idea of solar touring (but not racing).

I'm building my own flavor of touring solar e-trike starting with a Greenspeed Magnum. I'm also interested in organizing solar e-tours in the Americas. Is there anyone else out there who is similarly interested? Anyone organizing a Sun Trip? Anyone wanting to go Sun Tripping? If anyone is out there, I'm ready to connect.

Wish I could do that. can't get that far in any direction.
Keep looking I'm sure you will find some.
Not a lot of interest in Solar for our bikes, since it takes so much surface and it's so slow charging.

You are definitely in the right place to run on pure solar. But it's a lot of panel to try to carry on bikes that don't pull a trailer. I hope to do some touring if my health will cooperate, but I don't want a trailer. If you come down I-10, let me know when. I'd rather ride north from Tucson though. Or ride a loop through Patagonia. I-10 is not so scenic.
