Two new motors:
MY8922 36 Volt, 800 Watt, 3000 RPM, 28.5 Amp, permanent-magnet motor with a finned end cover,
and
MY1020ZX 36 Volt, 600 Watt, 550 RPM Gear Reduced, 21.3 Amp, fan cooled.

Neat.. 60:9 reduction and a fan!

Must have an air intake on the other side eh.

A reply from TNC concerning this motor:

"The MY1020ZX 600 Watt Planetary Geared Motor is a brushed motor. We suggest using either the CT-660B9 controller or the YK-43B controller running at 36 Volts. Below are links to both controllers.

36V Controller (Model CT-660B9)

24 - 60 V Controller (Model YK-43B)

The YK-43B controller is an extremely heavy duty controller and would probably work very well
on a 3-wheeled bicycle. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to contact us at (901) 734-4207.

Thanks, Chris

This item caught my eye as well: http://tncscooters.com/product.php?sku=106124

It's an 800-watt, 24-volt transaxle. From axle tip to axle tip, it's a hair under 24 inches wide. Shaft speed 260 RPM. I've just now had my second cup of coffee, but it looks like that translates to about 22mph with a 26" wheel.

Pusher trailer, anyone? Mount some SLAs low in it for stability, and... :)

27 pounds plus the frame and bats is going to be a bit much no?
Well, some amount of weight would be necessary for traction, else those 800 watts would do burnouts rather than produce thrust :) At some point the weight of the trailer would make braking more of a chore, though.

My pusher weighs in around 46 lbs(tare) and even at that weight it could use more traction... it will spin the wheel on gravel without much of a slope.
At that weight I can still pick it up and carry it around although I'm sure my girlfriend would have a hard time with it, more because of the bulk than the weight.

I've never done a true panic stop but I have done a few simulations and even with old hard brake pads it seem ok, even on steep hills.

I think some suspension would probably help more than adding weight, at least with my setup.

Hello, On the tnc skuters www my1020zx motor has 4.5 inch L. In metric systems it is 4.5 x 2.54 so it is 11.43 cm. But this is dimention with axle and sprocket?
I can Buy this engine but my1020zx1 version (without fan) but... In the specification this motor has 550 rpm without load. Because I want use this to my bicycle so I need 14 teeth freewheel on the motor axle and I can use 48 teeth on the crank-set. It' giving about 3.4 ratio. So 550/3.4 its 160 rpm. To much if I want to be pedaling in the same time. of course with load the rpm will be probably about 130 rpm but this is to much too. So this is 36V engine. I was thinking about giving him 24V but the question is whats happens with the efficiency? On the 24V it should has a 85 rpm and this is perfect... So any Ideas:)?
And the last. In spec was wrote that it has a nylon gears. So how loudly is this engine?
Regards, toft:).

Ok, my fault. I'll checked spec again, this motor has more then 25 cm length, so its too match to bicycle conversion.
