I have an old 24V EV Global EBike with no battery. I was wondering if I could just order this

and

and just plug it into the EV global and be good to go?

Do you guys think this battery has enough capacity to make a 8 mile ride with 800ft vertical climb with moderate pedal assist?

Thanks!

also, has anyone had any luck using an old ATX computer power supply to supply power to the charger?

I know this is ghetto but i'm on a tight budget :(

It might be just a bit peppy for a 24v EVG controller. 8s would be about 33.5v hot off the charger. 4.2v per cell fully charged. While the original sla's would be about 27v max. 6s would be a bit light, but should work fine. I would think 7s would work too if they have it. Or a 4s pack and a 3s pack series connected. I don't know what the upper limit is on those evg controllers, look for 30 amp caps inside it I guess, and if you don't see any that low go for it. It would definitely hum down the road on 8s lipo if the controller can take it. Much simpler than charging one 3s and one 4s too. 6s would just be slow.

I found my 24v EVG ran a whole lot better with a second set of paralelled sla's on the rear rack, giving it 24 ah of 24v sla and lots less sag. But it sure was heavy.

If you have one laying about, a 12v battery charger and an old sla from the bike will make a great ghetto power supply.
