Dumb question, I know... but...

What gauge (AWG) are the hall wires for a Crystalyte???
24AWG?
22AWG?
20AWG?
I'm making some test wiring and I need to purchase the correct multi-strand wiring off eBay.

Thanks!

Floont,

The smaller the better in my opinion. I tried using 24 awg to repair my X5 but the wires were to big at the point were I soldered them to the hall sensors. I went with 28 awg and soldered the three positive and three negative wires together after they exited the motor. I used shrink wrap to cover the nine wires were they pass thought the axil.

I used Teflon PTFE coated wire from bulkwire.com which is working good for me.

Well for the record i'd say go as big as ya can but not above 22ga. Only reason is to prevent fraying of the wire. That's all.

Use as small as necessary to get through the axle but everywhere else use a bit larger to help protect against damage.
There is only about 10 milliamps maximum flowing in the hall sensors so basically any normal wire will handle the current but outside the hub you should be more worried about mechanical damage.

For a test harness i would probably go bigger so it can withstand more flexing.

Thanks, guys!
I settled on 22AWG for the test harness.

The 28AWG and Teflon PTFE coated wire is good info for rewiring or repairing the xlyte, which I have to do soon on one motor soon... Thanks.
