I had a dream oh yeah, crazy dream uh-huh.
Anything I wanted to know, any place I needed to go.
Hear my song yeah, people don't you listen now?
Sing along!

And the song remains the same.

Now let's press a reset button and move on, shall we?
I love old songs of romance. They are very good!

Here. Moderators? This is YT OK. Kids?

No kids here, right?

Do not press the button:

Edit, humbled now: realizing that people thought and did just as we do today, because they had to do so.
And, somehow, this bit of REAL LIFE was preserved. I do not know her. The recording is from 1925, I think, by the sound: olden-then, re0reobsolete
recording machinery, recycled made to "cut wax" for the "negro trade" underground, perhaps. It does not sound like 1935, sound-wise, but could be-so.
But, it does apppear to be an "acoustical process" recording", not a microphone captured "croon". In fact, she is a "Blues Shouter" of audacious honesty.
Lucille.....there's no "filth" here; only love and squeezes all men need.

Welcome back to both of you! I'm a newby here, but have read so much that I felt a loss with your absences and was saddened by all the discord. I like the reset idea. Let the enthusiasm and excitement that is the the rule here prevail.

Warmest regards to all,

John

Hey you, just above:>

I don't want any "Georgie Porgy" all over me :twisted:
Been there, done that. Got the crabs and worse.

OK. THANK YOU ALL for welcoming me back to E.S.

During my down time, I did make, to save my sanity, a co-op forum.
It is NOT to compete or suck members from this place.

It is not to grow quickly, if at all; after all E.S. was moribund, really,
for some months, until The Great Disaster of the sudden death of the old V place occurred.

Now, I will post here, as allowed, and management will keep my "reid-ness" in proper check.
PMs are most appreciated, as they cause me no mental stress. That ban nearly killed my spirit.
So I made EFFO as a time-killer, and as a secondary place where I can plant my junk and never lose control.

I crash regularly...we all know this.

POINT: It would be a moral boost for me, for Ypedal, for all, to just register, eventually, at EFFO,
even if not to post...but to gradually bring in the experts from here, to also aid there.

This way we never lose all the wealth of information so painstakingly built here at E.S.
(that's how I feel, anyway)

And EFFO will be trimmed and "de-reided" in time (weided) of fluffs and flops,
for I won't be there forever, as my life-time is ticking away; yet, I am very happy, nearly always.

New thread possible? For most of you, you are in Northern climes and it is about the end of bike riding weather,
except for the hardy Canandians, who Fear No Snow...nor mares. :twisted:

I most like to make little, poor quality bike ride video tours of Coconut Grove.
It's always biking season here. Now the weather is cooling a bit.

I would like to start a thread that (ahem) may "star" mostly my junky video tours.
A new mini cam came the other day. With it, I can do better hand-held bike tours,
in a form of "HD" for those of you who have broadband.

At any rate (very slow, because I can't ride any bike lately due to limited body-energy,
I would like to present, and re-present, some favorite videos, mostly boring, yes,
but I have this inbuilt need to "document" a small man's life: my own.
And you, in the cold or the dreary greys of the north...can see green and see people smiling.

New thread OK? And please...add in YOUR bike videos. The faster and more furious, the better.
This ain't the "reid show off show" ... more like show and SHARE. I am lucky to be alive
and be in an area with great natural scenery...such as giant SUVs veering to kill cyclists.
I do love adrenaline rushes, but, my heart says "don't do that, fool!"

Georgie Porgie was a lousy lay.
I'd rather just bike away today.

:lol:

It is humane and sane to abstract-paint all that we want.
N&V is making a subtle point.

I prefer, however to live my life, real, live and ALIVE, damn the critics.

He was my personal friend!
And I tell you what, he was a straight arrow: totally real and totally straight,
and he PLAYED HIMSELF. He was not an actor. This is in direct opposition to the silent, dead point of darkness
quoted above.

One of my heroes. He called me "Mr. Reid."

I am not much, but I do get around

the world of what matters.

r.

----PS: any of you poor guys who cannot view video: it's probably not your "fault"; this is the era of The Great Turmoil of Changover.
You can, at least, see the still shots: In original color, this is the song that Mr. Tim later re-made into HIS signature song.

Let us see Nick as a young man, first, and then FORTY years later, same song, great man:

reminder: thread title: WHY do we live?

Ans: it ain't to stare glumly at Jackson Pollock (sp) splashes of drear-paint on cheap canvas.

^

It is a wonderful new avatar. Mr. Tim would have liked you so very much, indeed (truth). He liked all people
who respected the past masters of his beloved musical era, which, it so happens, is mine, too.
I am the only living man, or any man to ever have recorded Mr. Tim directly to waxen Edison cylinder, song to horn,
acoustic reality...now...

...he would call you off stage or on, "Mister Nuts". That was his honest, always, respect. First name plus the formality.
How odd, yet, sensible: formal, yet, friendly!

Robert Reid Welch, tooting off now, as the Little Engine that Can.

CLICK that signature link?
It is absolute truth. He was so special to my dad,
that my dad could not utter his namesake name to me, to anyone.
But I bring Bobo back to life, in a sense, to remind "him" that he is ever-loved
and to be remembered.

WHY WE LIVE:
I met a man today, lost, needing directions, in front of our home,
old, white Chevy van. All windows open; AC doubtless defunct. The van, all of it, smelled of old man.
Packed to the roof with junk furniture, keepsakes, precious, of a heroic life looking for a fitting end.

"Can you tell me how to get to The Keys from here?"

I told him the simple way: just get back to US1 and head for the setting sun.

Hand controls told that his legs are near-useless.

He is, doubtless, sleeping in that van, as I write these words of reality.

"How far have you come today?"

"Oh, I don't know...I've just been driving."

Perfectly clear, young looking, bare chested, leather for a neck, though,
flabbing torso, but the face: full of youth, unmarked!
A 1926 Youth, yet...a vet, a survivor of the Second War... a former trainer of men,
is how he survived that sojourn near to Death.

"Where did you start from, when?"

"Montana. Three days ago. I just have been driving.
I want to see The Keys again.

He has them now. He is eighty four years old.

----

DO YOU ALL UNDERSTAND YOUR JOURNEY'S END'S PURPOSES??????????????????

I make up nothing. "They" come to me and they speak...always of life, never of quitting.

Goodbye, Thread

World's first-ever recorded guitarist-singer, started in 1912, Edison experiments;
father of all recorded guitar to come. Ask Sean Lennon? I did.
Dedicated by self, tonight, to an old man in a white van from the West.

Welcome back Reid.

Apologies to everyone for my language.
What language? Just "dots".

Am just on page of five of seven, having missed all of the apparent upsets.

You all know that you all are lovable, in the brotherly way.

I say this because I wish could be said to be lovable, too.

In the final analysis, I think all we want is to feel needed.

N&V and all here are needed....I need them, anyway.

And...btw, this "gay marriage" thing is just awful: it polarizes this nation.

Civil Union is what we should accept, right? Then when a guy or girl says "sorry, I'm married," the auditor KNOWS
just who's wearing pants and who's wearing panties, and acts accordingly: hands off, "target of possible interest now
taken to be a straight or normal person.

Gays are abnormal in the sense that they are a common but simple minority.

````
So we try to be a uh, fraternal order...a non-exual civil union of diverse types here, right?
Has nothing to do with dropped bars of soap.r. Just don't drop the soap near me, anyone! :twisted:
Regret that this now-spoiled thread can't be retitled.
I weep for anyone I may have harmed here,
