I agree with tomjasz. I might have to order a kit just for backup. Question for Jakov, if I accidentally shorted the welding tips together while making a weld will the MOSFETs blow?

These welders are so good. I don't think anyone who own one will want to sell. Made a battery pack a month ago and it working perfectly with no issues.

No go for me. The tips stick to the Nickel strip after the weld. I can see the tips getting Red hot. Giving up on this experiment and sticking to Copper electrodes for now.

When we perform a weld operation, we see a spark. This must be a piece of Nickel or Copper material burning up. So I would expect the tips to wear down over time.

Just made my first 18650 battery pack with Jakov's welder. This is an awesome product. High quality, easy to use and very effective. Making these packs are a lot of fun now with this spot welder. Keep up the development of this product, you are on to something big here.

tomjasz, How are those magnetic 18650 holders working for you in the picture? Are they worth buying for holding the cells together while you weld?

Does the polarity make a difference? Hate to blow mine up on the first try.

Do you have a ballpark date estimate for completion?
