    12S lion BMS

I need some 12S bms boards for use with standard 6S RC battery packs. The 13S boards are much more common, is it possible to mod these boards for 12S use. I assume I can just remove the components on the pcb for the 13th input. It looks like each of the inputs switch the fet pack when it drops...

    electric car plug advise

Matt The most common connection is now the Mennekes type 2 connector. Do a search on that and IEC62196 and you will get all the information. The outlet can supply different maximum current depending on a signal supplied by the car cable and plug. Supply can also be single or 3 phase. Charles

how to program a sevcon gen4

Sounds like you may have the sensor encoder out of sync. easy to reverse the motor, just swap any two motor wires, and the equivalent encoder wires. The enclosed diagram might help.

how to program a sevcon gen4

I had the same problem when I first built my motorbike. My Gen4 runs at 1mhz, but my BMS is 500khz. They need to run at the same baud on the canbus, or you get loads of errors. I could have slowed the Gen4 down, but I just split them up instead. I'm pretty sure Sevcon usually use 1mhz as the...

    Sevcon Gen4 help!

I'm still tweeking my motorbike setup, and am after some advice. Standard Motenergy ME0907 motor, all running fine. At low revs up to about 2000 revs torque is excellent, I can draw about 150amps with no problems, but as I up the revs, I can't seem to pull more than about 100 amps. The...

    ME0907 With Sine wave controller?

I ran my ME0907 for quite a while on the Kelly, and then switched to the Gen4, mainly because I coudn't get enough power with the Kelly I had ( their ratings seem to be a bit optimistic) but the reduction in noise was huge. The load clicking noise completely disappears, just a quiet hum on start...

how to program a sevcon gen4

I'm not much good with rpdos, these are external communications sent to and from the gen4. There is a section in dvt_helper for configuring them, so have a look in there and you might find something. Probably something to do with the extra control board you have on your bike. Good luck!

how to program a sevcon gen4

The dvt software only views what's in the controller. There is a screen in tree which shows all the io and analogue values. Are you still getting a fault in dvt_top get fault information? If so, is there a hex code listed?

how to program a sevcon gen4

The problem you have is with the configuring of the software in the correct directory. It has to all go in the same one, otherwise it can't find it. Here's the info: 5.1 Sevcon Controller Program Installer To install the DVT Software, start the Sevcon Controller Programs-Setup.exe with...

how to program a sevcon gen4

The DVT software is quite easy to fault find with, and you can access all parameters. In the software there is a GUI which gives a list of controller info, fault info, and range error and settings checks. There is quite a bit of help info in the files with the software such as an error code help...

how to program a sevcon gen4

Sorry I haven't got a schematic. On my motorbike I have a seat switch connected for the kick stand, and the forward switch on with ignition. If you can get the dvt software running, you can easily see all the input/output settings, and the throttle pot voltages. It makes it much easier to fault...

how to program a sevcon gen4

If the contactor is operating, then it might be something to do with the forward /reverse switch, any other fault such as throttle pot wiring or seat switch etc. will give an error code.

how to program a sevcon gen4

This post has the link to the software, I've tried UK sevcon and I couldn't get much help out of them, it sound's like their Europe or US divisions are more helpful. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=48904

ME0907 getting a bit hot on motorbike

Well, I sent the drawings for the motor to a colleague at Siemens who got his motor expert to have a look. They reckon that this type of motor with a very simple rotor and fixed windings has little disruption of air through the motor casing, as the air only has to cool the fixed wiring and very...
