Do not work on these batteries if you don't know what you are doing. I tried to separate the bad group of cells that was causing my problem, a spark happened, then a cell exploded, then all hell broke loose. I lost everything.
Anyone close to St. Peter’s MO? I’m willing to travel if needed. I got this bike to go trail riding with my boys and I’ve had it a couple months without being able to do so. I don’t know where else to reach out to.
I charged the pack to 83.9 (even though my lcd screen showed 84.7). Where before I was seeing 8v difference between each of the groups, now half are at 8.5v and the other at 8.4v difference. I’m not sure if it matters or not, just wanted to document it in case it did.
I didn’t know about active...
When folks are doing maintenance on their battery pack, how do they get the groups back in sync if they are out? Do I unplug the wires from the bms and try to charge one group at a time? I have so much to learn.
I have checked each of the “group’s” and as mentioned, the further you go from the front of the pack to the rear the voltage drops 8v. I checked each battery in each of the groups and the voltage is consistent for each battery in that group. Example: group 1 measures 78.8v. Each individual...
Thanks guys. I can’t find a broken connection, how do I troubleshoot the pack to find one if there is? Should I check voltage in a different way? Thanks again for all your help!
I noticed on the top of the pack separations in the aluminum bindings connected to the top of the batteries. If my count is correct, it appears to be 6 separate banks. Checking voltage from what I’ll call the front of the battery, where the positive wires connect to the bank, these are the...
I unwrapped the pack, now I’m not so sure any of the batteries were damaged. I’m not sure what to do now, do I break down the battery pack even more? How do I test the cells individually?
Ok, got the battery out, I see damage around the edges, can anyone tell if it got into the cells or not? The pack has a blue shrink wrap around it, is it OK to cut it away to see the insides?
