Thanks :)
Simply put, no not at all. I have used lock nuts for the screws that hold the two pieces together and just a normal screw (no nut) for the piece which screws to the brake hole in the truck hanger.
Nice job on the sprocket mount, that looks really good.
Your motor mount looks ugly as hell (a lot like mine was). Don't take that as an offence though, it's not meant to be. I think it's important for people to realise that even with a few hand tools, they can make a motor mount which...
Haha yeah, gotta make the most of the summer in the UK!
I know it's not the nicest at all. I'm still to have a proper play with the ESC settings, don't think I have any timing adjustment but I can change the acceleration curve. Think I should have the curve start shallow or steep? :?
Finally got a chance to get a little bit of footage. Definitely some issues that need ironing out.

The belt alignment isn't perfect. In the first clip, the grub screws had come loose so the motor was just spinning without turning the wheel - that got fixed.
The brakes seem...
I still haven't tried it out yet, had other things to fix so the only chance I've had to work on/test ride the board has been under 6s with my 150A Toro.
I believe beto_pty used an aircraft ESC on his 12s Destroyer build. As far as I know, the brakes on them are basically useless so he used a...
Hey drmacgyver,
1) Wiring the batteries in series is easy peasy! My wiring is basically like this:
All of my connectors are 5.5mm bullets since that's what my batteries came with (I'm guessing your new batteries will be the same). You could solder some 4mm - 5.5mm adapters but I think...
Hi!
1) This depends on what you want to do with your board really. Obviously one motor and one ESC is the cheapest solution and is enough for most people's needs. If you want to take your board (mountain board I assume) off road then you will probably want two motors. If you take this route you...
I built an electric skateboard so I could ride it to work every day - here is my reasoning why.
Here in the UK it seems that we are seeing an ever increasing number of cars on our roads. Even after global fuel price increases, rising insurance premiums and the effect which burning fossil fuels...
