    Crazy Trike concept, need some help/advice

    So I have a weird, crazy Trike concept, and having some trouble finding parts which may work. FYI this would be a build for Burning Man, so thoughts are based on having LOTS of cushion for when I/friend/someone else does something stupid/crazy. My initial concept is based off of the Lode Runner...

    Mid motor, BB or non-BB?

    Thanks amberwolf, those are some nice, interesting designs. Not sure I'll be doing them soon, but definitely something I'll come back and reference when I get ready to do my own :)

    Mid motor, BB or non-BB?

    Well, as I said I'm not buying it, although I think I will use it for inspiration.

    Mid motor, BB or non-BB?

    It's a standard BMX 20", and according to hike at ~40psi it was almost flat/compressed due to the weight. And the foam thing is the equivalent of 120psi. Why he didn't go with a high pressure tire/rim, I dunno.

    Mid motor, BB or non-BB?

    So got some pictures last night (https://imgur.com/a/pT3XD0g), pretty cool design...but it's big. Large. And where the heck would I keep it when not using it?! I'm in a small 1 bedroom apartment, no real space to put it, and no way it can fit in my storage spot without paying a lot more for a...

    Mid motor, BB or non-BB?

    Just found https://lunacycle.com/parts/cyclone-parts/cyclone-double-sprocket-kit-for-trikes-recumbents-and-pedicabs/, which actually might work out just fine. Since there's a gear shift, it has a tensioner, and worst case I can always get a chain idler/guide or another tensioner. There's one...

    Burning Man SLA version 2

    So, poking through an old memory card briefly this evening, found this old image of my 2nd attempt at a Burning Man e-bike. I took 4x12v SLA batteries, welded steel square tube rear panniers. Good thing the bike frame was steel. Twisted the whole damn bike every time I went over a bump, and...

    Mid motor, BB or non-BB?

    It seems like it might be a custom build, I'm going to see it tomorrow and intend to take some more detailed pics and measurements. It's already got a transaxle (yay!!!) so DD rear hubs make less sense. Frankly I'm planning to do this as a Burning Man build, and possibly do it effectively as a...

    Mid motor, BB or non-BB?

    So I'm looking at an interesting used cargo trike on CraigsList, delta upright, cargo area back, and it's got a transaxle in the middle which the pedals (above the front wheel) go to with gears, with 2 separate chains going back to each rear wheel. If I get it I'm going to electrify it, and I'm...

    Presta -> Schrader rim?

    OK, so in general drilling out doesn't present a problem and is fine. Great! Thanks everyone.

    Presta -> Schrader rim?

    So...I've got a Presta rim on my bike (going to be conversion), and I'm debating if I want to go for schrader tubes and wanted to get your opinions on (carefully!) drilling out the hole to fit a schrader valve. I've seen other people have done it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3-8rkazaOw)...

    Spoke length calculation help

    Sapim makes spokes 13ga at the elbow, 14 GA rest of the spoke. Sapim Strong I think they're called. To answer where I'm buying them from, http://wheelbuilder.com/ although you can get them elsewhere such as http://ebikes.ca/. Mostly I'm buying through them because they're very close to me so...

    Spoke length calculation help

    It's double walled rim, so less worried about the the spoke tips poking through a few mm. I'll go for the 203mm then, sorta split the difference. I'll go for the slightly longer nips, and that way there will be some room to play. I'm actually going to have a bike shop lace it up, since I don't...

    Spoke length calculation help

    So I'm using 2 different spoke length calculators, http://www.ebikes.ca/tools/spoke-calc.html and the Sheldon Brown spocalc http://sheldonbrown.com/rinard/spocalc.htm and they are giving me close, but different numbers. I've got the MXUS XF07 hub motor, and took my measurements off the presets...

    Question on re-lacing hub onto new frame

    So I'm looking to re-lace a MXUS XF07 (front) onto a new rim for a new (to me) bike. It's a 20" rim, and I've seen some advice recommending a radial pattern, and others recommending a single cross (http://www.ebikes.ca/learn/wheel-build.html). Right now I'm inclined to do a 1 cross, especially...
