I've been having an issue, the first being that with the battery in its current location, the bike likes to tip over even with two traditional kickstands. The second is that my golden motor controller hardly seems to have any meaningful power.
Would placing the batteries on the top produce...
I just bought one of these at auction, and am going to try to make a controller. The plan is to have two sets of phase outputs, and have them switch between parallel and serial.

I went to school for computer engineering, which is half computer science and half digital electronics. I got the part about the efficiency, but the english was what i have a problem understanding, specifically the use of voltage and current are wrong. What I was thinking of was building a...
I'm confused by what your saying, but i know that there is a loss of efficiency. I have a 36v 100ah battery, and would like to have it stay at 36v until RPMS max out, then switch to a higher voltage and lower current (like 48/72v).
I was wondering if a controller with built in boost dc dc converter was possible?
I am fairly adept at EE, and understand the concepts okay, but was wondering if there were any open source controllers out there.
I live in portland, so allow me to provide you with advise.
Return those Icon rain apparrel, and get something that is actually waterproof, and not something made from ripstop nylon.
Ripstop nylon has the tendency of not staying waterproof past a season or two, even if you try to re-treat it...
I am using the "hi-power" battery system
I got the design idea from teklektik who told me about the design logic "da bomb" bike frame. The ICE is so that I can have something that runs a full duty cycle, I saw 3-4hp 35cc 4 stroke gas engines around for ~$300, and would be handy if i needed...
There is another version called a "clamptite" however the device is relatively simple to build yourself if you have tools, which i assume that you do by the complexity of your build.
I took your advice regarding the cargo bike situation, and have made myself one that looks like it, that I'm going to be prototyping on.

take any ordinary steel wire, and make a clamp of any size.

because there is still sight, and my neurons are wired to want to combine the images, though I close my one eye alot. Also considering that a car has the kenetic power of a gatling gun firing, its just not a good idea to drive a car with any impediment.
I have 20/10 sight in one eye, and poor vision in another. I am more worried about killing someone with a heavy vehicle, and travelling 30mph is plenty slow enough to have decent reaction time.
