I have seen that used on hydraulic pistons to stop them from unscrewing themselves from the shaft (obviously you can't put a set-screw through the shaft). On the x5 it looks like you would have room for a set-screw, so maybe that is preferable.

That's how the bigger EV controllers (Curtis etc) do it. A resistor for each FET. I didn't think you could do it any other way!

If you are charging all the pack in a series configuration, then do not do this! The imbalance is cumulative - i.e. the small balance resistors on your BMS will not be able to correct it when you charge, possibly over-volting the rest of the cells or terminating the charge early. Then next...
