Melody is contacting Fallbrook regarding the N360 warranty issues. I'll let you know when/if she gets a response. I have to say that the response I got from Fallbrook was basically the brush-off. As much as I like the idea (and my wife liked the demo ride) I'm cooling off on this.

In essence, like my motorcycles, I guess it would be wise to downshift prior to coming to a full stop. That's probably a good strategy with any bike.

Regarding the N360 hub, I have rephrased my question to Fallbrook to ask if there are any "concerns" about running an N360 hub on an Epik bike. I am inclined to go ahead and order the bike that way, but I will get my wife to check with Melody on warranty issues.

Confirmation from Fallbrook on the limitation of warranty on N360 hubs: The N360 is only covered under warranty for mid mount motor systems of 250 watts or less. Thanks for the inquiry.

I would encourage anyone who has questions about Epik's products, services and origins to contact Epik directly, rather than engaging in speculation here. We have found them to be very accessible, open, friendly and approachable.

All I can say is that I and my wife have met Melody and several other members of the Epik bike team (as did several hundred other people at the recent Mountain Equipment Coop Bike Fest in North Vancouver) and find them to be real people, selling a real product, who are completely credible in...

True enough. But your Whistler had a number of customizations when you bought it. With the larger wheels and frame, I would expect a bone stock Logan to weight more than a bone stock Whistler. It was only the relative weight difference between the two models that caught my eye. But as you say...

I was going by the weights int he Epik brochure: 48 lbs for the Whistler and 52 lbs for the Logan. Add another 5.5 lbs for the N360 hub (less whatever the 8 speed cassette and derailer weigh) and I figured about 8 lbs difference between 2 stock bikes. What's your height, Bill?

Thanks WSW, when I said 'taller' I was refering to gearing, in that larger wheels will give a higher speed with the same gearing and pedal RPMs. This question comes from one of the other reviews that I read, which implied that on a non-EV bike, the top speed with the N360 hub was about 20 mph...
