Taking apart a electric skateboard battery has revealed something strange.
It's a 10s1p 36v lipo battery but check out the BMS. Bare in mind this battery must been outputting 40-60amps because it took me up to 43km/h on the board. Stock. Straight out of the box. On flat ground. MAD!
I have 6...
I know this is slightly off topic, but I've searched everywhere and can't find the relevant info.
Who is the supplier currently making Bafang BBS-02 wiring looms for the CA? I'm hoping to get rid of my LCD and replace it with a CA. (in which case I'm happy to sell it on)
Just came across a you tube video showing Caterham (the car company for the non-petrol heads) doing their own e-bikes, seemingly the fashionable thing to do for car companies these days.
Turns out they are using the bafang mid-drive system. Well if it's good enough for Caterham...
Found this on Aliexpress this evening and wondering if anyone has seen one in action.
Looks relatively feeble but could function well as an ultra-light and cheap limp-mode controller if all else fails.
"Parameter settings can be modified through USB interface with the computer,or through KM5S...
My controller was one of the ones from that batch that did blow. It blew within an hour. i'm now about to receive my 3rd warranty controller, @ $100 inc. shipping a pop this is not trivial level of service he is offering.
After this experience, he's my go-to ebike parts guy.
It's not hard to...
I haven't reprogrammed my controllers yet. I will get to that soon. I have the display extension cable and USB serial hardware ready to go.
I'll do a repair on both and test some new settings when I get the time.
I got a load of mosfets from here...
I've had 2 controllers blown on me already. The second was a warranty replacement from EV3MV. I thought I'd give the repair a go myself and it's worked! Total time was about 1.5 hours.
I ripped out the putting compound with a screw driver. It takes about 20 mins to get it all out. You have to...
Yea I will order some UP, and reprogram. Paul at EM3EV was kind enough to throw in a LCD extender cable when we sent the replacement controller. I have the USB serial hardware and just need to slice this cable up, wire it to the USB serial and then I can programme the controller.
Really appreciate this ac246. I've now had 2 controllers blow on me, both within the first 10 miles. The replacement one from EM3EV just blew a hour ago after 4 miles. I also think that my throttle is faulty - this seems to be a common issue.
The bike was running fine in PAS mode so I didn't...
Just to update on this, EM3EV are sending me a replacement controller under warranty which is ideal. Hopefully the new one lasts a bit longer. Impressed with their service.
Can't wait to get back on the road with this bike as the my 1 hour tube commute is getting old fast. E-biking across...
I too having the tiny click-no power when throttle depressed issue too.
I had done only 20 miles (10 miles on load - the rest done free air) when this occurred.
Purhcased from Paul- EM3EV.
Throttle doesn't work
PAS doesn't work
Display shows no errors
Slight click when throttled depressed...
