you are using the CA set to 10A ? If i set my CA to limit current /torque, then everything works fine. I expected the Kelly controller to do the same : to limit the current as per throttle position. But it does not. In torque mode it still controls speed. Unfortunately

Please be careful ! The negative pole must be connected directly to the controller ! Never put any fuse / contactor / switch in between ! The manual clearly states that. The controller will blow, if connection to Minus pole of battery is lost / cut !

I had the same effect. It is purely a result of the PI parameters, there is nothing wrong with hardware or fimware ! Just be patient and try different settings . I got my setup working perfectly without any fluctation. I wished i had noted down my proceeding / the results at different setting...
