The marine tandem chargers have only one transformer w/ a common ground side but two independent charging circuits. Could get away w/ one set of isolation relays, but its only pennies to isolate both sides.

The equivalent Valence pack would be 28 times the cost of this surplus Pb pack..otherwise it looks promising...hopefully by the time these need replacement there will be a viable alternative...meantimes, I'm looking to maximise the life..parallel charging etc etc...maby a capacitor bank as...
Just thought I'd give a quick update while I had the chance.....
The surplus batteries (10 AGM SLF-12205's by POWER battery Co.) still check out despite age etc.....we'll see how they behave in real charge discharge this spring
The parrellel charger bank made of 5 dual marine Dytek 15 amp...
The brakes and pads are new but the pads are the plain black ones.....first try will be better pads....that's a great site.......
Better weight distribution is going to be a must......I'll need to figure out how to keep it more "stock" looking.......

3. 4 21Ah SLA's in soft bags at the rear (not to mention rear hub motor) would seem to be the source of both difficulties......rear CG shift and...
First test flights of the 48V version this afternoon.......Yes, it will really do a "right over backwards wheelie" w/ the 60 lbs of batteries in the rear (OUCH!).....and yes, it needs significant damping to keep the steering from going into oscillation at top speed (managed to just recover from...
