Thanks to all of those researching how to get a higher top assisted speed out of these bikes. I just don't know why they (BH & the lawmakers) have to make it so hard for us! Why can we not have an 'off road only' option which unlocks a higher top speed? IIRC the US has a 25mph top assisted speed...

I can concur there d8veh. One of the rear suspension arm bolts on mine rounded off as I torqued it to specification with the correctly-sized allen socket. It looks like a specially-sized one so I called the dealer where I purchased mine only to be told it has been too hard to source the part...

That'd be great if there's a reversible way to crack the limiter. I'm keeping tabs on this thread. :D

My only bypass so far has been to pedal really hard. :D In all honesty though, I'm still keen to know if there's a way to do this (preferably a way that can be reversed relatively easily if required! )

Jeremy - are you able to supply controllers for the US-spec version? They're 350w (vs our 250w - assuming it is restricted by controller) so should offer a bit more grunt, even though they are still speed limited (or are they not speed limited on the US spec?)

Thanks Punx0r. Will give that a go. So you put the bike up on a stand, back wheel in the air, run the motor with a regular bike speedo attached and see what it gets to before cutout?

Thanks for the response d8veh. From what you have said, it may be the motor winding (as it's reasonably gradual in the way the power tapers off - I'm still learning about this stuff) and there certainly isn't anything to do with speed sensing on the front wheel as I changed the tyres as soon as...
