I hope it's ok to join this discussion; I have electrified a recumbent with a 18v (sideways) drill and it seems ok with 12v 20ah la. I fancy soldering up some nimh cells but I would greatly appreciate advice on which cells to use. thanks, Mike.

I am electrifying a recumbent with a scooter motor-24v 100w and controlling it with a drill trigger. 1. Does someone have experience of this setup? 2. The trigger is rated 20v. How much overload would the system stand? 3. Where do I get big, light, cheap batteries in the UK?
