    Converting a Bakfiets cargo bike

I'm sure bakfiets.nl will sell the fork with a disk mount but it will be way overpriced. I might get lucky finding it on a large online bike parts shop or locally on second hand goods website. If you got LCD3 screen, I have the same one, I know all about the settings and PAS levels. Do you know...

    Converting a Bakfiets cargo bike

Thanks for the link. I can't figure out if the shipment is tax free to EU, this is a big cost to consider. Also finding a battery for a good price within EU is not easy. But this kit is actually not bad if it comes in a wheel and has everything except the battery. Do you know specifically which...

    Converting a Bakfiets cargo bike

Malcolm, hello from Netherlands. I am researching if I can convert my new old (just purchased used) bakfiets for reasonable price. I will only do it if cost is low and I can use a front motor. My bakfiets is just like yours: only one front wheel, same box for kids to sit in, same size front...

PAS backwards - how to flip?

That is the same one I bought, see my first post. I had the same problem. What I ended up doing is purchasing this one: https://torquetech.co.uk/collections/sensors/products/electric-bike-12-magnet-easy-fitting-split-pas-pedal-assist-sensor-cadence-speed?variant=10207999623215 Make sure you...

PAS backwards - how to flip?

You cannot reverse direction of this handed PAS. Sensor itself creates the pulsed signal and this sensor does not send pulses when pedaling in the "wrong" direction. Controller can't reverse anything since there are no pulses being sent by the sensor when pedaling forward on the right hand side...

PAS backwards - how to flip?

It will not work by flipping any wires. There are only 3 wires: +5V, GND, Signal. Either way, the Signal wire carries the pulses and the pulses are only activated by spinning one way. Spinning the other way the signal remains at either 0V or 5V (don't know which one but remains at one level). I...

Install hitch for bike trailer on 12 mm axle

Great point. Ideally I would do exactly what you suggested - torque plate to which I can install the ball. I don't even need the hitch plate itself as long as the torque plate has the same angle plate to which I can attach the ball. I already have an alternative plate with the ball but I just...

Install hitch for bike trailer on 12 mm axle

There is no reason for any of those parts to fail. Hitch will not be filed down, only the cog. What will fail is the cog. It already broke on another bicycle without being modified. Cog broke in two pieces. I suspect the cog was made out of some not particularly strong material, couldn't tell...

PAS backwards - how to flip?

That doesn't work. PAS only senses in one direction, doesn't matter how the magnet disk is oriented. I have tried and tested it.

PAS backwards - how to flip?

My right side PAS broke and I had to get a new one. Ended up buying two new PAS with magnet disks from two different online shops, still waiting on the "correct" right hand KT-D12R to arrive. In the mean time the supposed right hand PAS arrived and after shortening the cable and fitting female...

Install hitch for bike trailer on 12 mm axle

Thanks for all the advice. I'm thinking of filing the "cog" that is used to lock the hitch plate on the axle with a 10 mm round file to only enlarge top and bottom so that it fits on the 12 mm axle. I have to make sure I file correctly so that once the cog is installed in the hitch plate, the...

Install hitch for bike trailer on 12 mm axle

Reading about people's experiences with mounting hitches without locking them, it is not a good idea. It will probably not hold. My best solution is solution number 3 from my first post. There must be hitch mounting plates that have the hole drilled out just like the axle of typical rear hub...

Install hitch for bike trailer on 12 mm axle

Hello, I have a Q128C rear hub motor that has 12 mm axle. I have a bicycle trailer hitch (see attached picture) that is made for standard 10 mm axle. Specifically, the hitch comes with cogs that are used to prevent the hitch from moving when installed on the axle. See pictures I attached below...

    Motor cutting out

As promised, here are a few photos of how the magnet ring and PAS sensor are installed. You can see the sensor with the small red LED at the bottom of the photo, next to the magnet ring. Magnet ring is attached to the smallest third chainring by magnets. In order to install the King Meter T281...

    Motor cutting out

Well, it was the PAS. You were right, alignment was the problem but more so the distance between the sensor and the magnet ring, not so much the angle or distance from bottom bracket. I was so sure it was something else but once I took a look at it today by flipping the bike over and testing, I...
