Try some conductive grease, but be careful and don't be sloppy with it, just some small dabs on the conductor terminals. You don't want any of your precious electrons getting out of the connector.

The need for more power was determined by my dad's lack of fitness coupled with the high rolling resistance of these fat tires and the very steep terrain that will be encountered. I believe the 530X motors add about five pounds over the 408? The new battery weighs the same as the old NiCads...
