I used a cheap Chinese 48v 1000w Sunwin Controller from eBay on my 60v 16ah battery. The motor is a QS205. Using a controller that pulls less volts from the battery should be perfectly fine.

Are you recommending a MaxE, or do you know a better option? I am trying to build a better Motorcycle than the Zero FX, for a lot less. So I have to be able to throttle for about a minute consistently.
