eZee conversion with Ping batteries... 1000km update.

I originally posted as I started my eZee conversion, looking for advice, and picking numerous brains. For all the information, and insight, I thank you. If you're interested in the original posts, here they are: http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10578 and...

48v Ping & eZee hub conversion... How much is too much?

Thanks, thats put my mind a bit more at ease. To tell you the truth, I've been concerned about gear wear considering its nylon planetary gears, so I try and be as easy as I can with smooth acceleration and peddling to reduce over loading of the system. Well, if I ever DO wear out something, I...

48v Ping & eZee hub conversion... How much is too much?

I have no idea. The highest I saw was around 1060w and immediately backed right off. Could it have something to do with the volts being so high? I'm pretty sure I didn't do 1500w!

48v Ping & eZee hub conversion... How much is too much?

I bought an eZee front hub conversion kit without the battery and got a Ping 48v 20a LiFePo4 instead primarily to give myself a longer range. (I commute 20+ km each way) I realize that I'm riding on the outside edge of what this motor is designed for, so... The specs on the website say that at...

eZee conversion with Ping batteries... Advice wanted.

Back from break in cruise #2 Minimal peddling; Starts, hills and some grades. Otherwise motor only. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. If anyone sees anything wrong with these readings, I would appreciate some feedback. Just back from the ride. Did a couple of minor trail areas with...

eZee conversion with Ping batteries... Advice wanted.

!!! Shake down cruise !!! Last night I ran the motor for 90 minutes without load at 20 km/hr. @ 30-50 watts. Going in every 10 or 15 minutes to push the throttle up and down. Max wheel speed at 100w was 56.4 km/hr. This morning I went over the bike one more time. Tightened the wheels, seat, and...

eZee conversion with Ping batteries... Advice wanted.

Well, about ready for a test ride, but not nearly ready for weather. Now, I need some suggestions. If you look at the following pictures you'll see me delema. The wiring harnesses for for the bms, and the speed controller, as well as a wire from each pack to the charger socket, and speed...

eZee conversion with Ping batteries... Advice wanted.

Ya, the disco effect got me as well.:) I was surprised when I woke up in the morning. I put the battery on charge, waited about 1/2 an hour just to make sure that nothing was overheating, then went to bed. When I woke up and went to my 'work room' I came around the corner in the dark and saw...

Good news. No damage>! Charged overnight, and BMS is showing all red lights, and the charger light is green. Full charge metered at 60.3v. I'm doing a preliminary install tonight. I'll post pics when I've got it running.

eZee conversion with Ping batteries... Advice wanted.

IM AN IDIOT!!! Damn, I hope I didn't do what I thought I might have done... While wiring the charger jack I momentarily touched the wires going to the charger from the BMS and battery positive. Got a quick arc, and it was all over but the swearing. What do you think the chances are that I just...

eZee conversion with Ping batteries... Advice wanted.

Thanks for the suggestions. That gives me a better idea in practical terms what I can expect before I take it on the full 20 km commute. Didn't install one. From what I understand it isn't required in Ontario. Well, day of days!!! My Pings finally arrived. If you remember from previous posts...

eZee conversion with Ping batteries... Advice wanted.

Ok, now that the batteries arrival is immanent time to ask a couple of specific questions. 1/ Do you think the eZee motor and gears should be broken in somehow before an actual ride? Or do you think some light riding be enough? 2/ What about my new LiFePO4 batteries? From what I've read short...

eZee conversion with Ping batteries... Advice wanted.

Good news, my batteries have arrived in Canada, passed through customs, and are apparently in the caring and capable hands of Canada Post... In the meantime, I did a lot of the maintenance that was suggested, then started the build. Installed new fenders, rear tire, and the all important rear...
