I prefer lipo only because it's cheaper

It's true that the cost of lipo has dropped substantially. But the charging setups are still behind. Although in the next few years i see lithium batteries taking a big jump because of things like the nissan leaf.

    Building Li-Ion battery pack

After all the research i've put into lipo, it seems like they are designed for a different purpose. they have high discharge rates for short bursts. but i need range and ease of use. so lifepo4 seems like a better option for me. Safer, still pretty cheap, and long lifetime. the ping battery also...

I prefer lipo only because it's cheaper

It seems like Lifepo4 is best in terms of range, number of recharge cycles etc. but they are fairly expensive. I'm also confused on what you are trying for. Would you like to know what the best battery is? or would you like to prove that RC lipo batteries are the cheapest? Commonly used doesn't...

what is the best e-bike kit??

I have been looking into that same kit from conhismotor and it seems like thats the best way to go. you can get all the parts you need in the kit so theres no need for a parts list (which he requested earlier i believe) and you have lots of options. he can get a 48v1000w motor, a 48volt 20ah...

    Cheap E-bike conversion

I hadnt thought about the fire issue... plus that 30 minute charge time from the hyperion EOS 1420i NET3 charger is quite appealing. is there are decently cheap power supply on the market that can put out the power the hyperion is capable of? haha

    Cheap E-bike conversion

i found an iMax B6 on amazon that can take AC power supply. Its only $28 plus a $7 12volt 5 amp cord. I'll be charging over night most likely so it's no problem if it takes a while. that may even put me below $600 if shipping from hobbyking isn't too much. i hope the starting project works. if...

    Borderline E-Motorcycle

After riding a mountain bike today i realized i dont really want to go 45mph on a bike. that would be pretty scary. so i think i might start out doing a hub motor kit then maybe convert an enduro dirtbike into an e-motorcycle. plus i already have a title for it and it has lights, a horn etc.

    Borderline E-Motorcycle

So today im making about $800, and i want to start my ebike project! :D Where i live, i'm about 10 miles from my school, and the speed limit is 45mph. I'm pretty sure i can charge it when i get to school also if the charger isnt too large. But, after all of my research, i've come across one...
