    Hybrid alternator as BLDC

That's nice. If you have the means and the time, maybe you could help us learn more about them, i'd love to hear more about it

    QSMOTOR + other brands' controllers?

Hello everyone. I was looking at QSMOTOR's smaller and cheaper power units and found the QS90 1kW mid drive motor, small but probably capable of more like its bigger brothers QS138 70H/90H, but i was looking on the controllers they normally are sold with (Votol, Sabvoton, and YYK/YuyangKing)...

New BMW car's motors are BRUSHED

Well, just like BMW, MAHLE and other companies are now doing this for EV purposes, people that do DIY projects with alternators already use this exact idea (AC power on the stator and DC through brushes for the rotor)

48v Starter / generator motors (BSG alternator)

Hello wiredsim and fellow users. I saw this thread of yours about high voltage alternators/mild hybrid units, and i already saw some people using these big-power units: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=110673 and http://elmoto.net/showthread.php?t=2676 for a Gen2 GM...

    KHB - Project eTurd - 2000W - LiFePO4 48V 24Ah

You need to calculate the speed using the diameter from the tire, not the wheel About the torque, 14T>46T is 1:3,28, so the jackshaft will give you ~3x more torque than you have at the moment

    KHB - Project eTurd - 2000W - LiFePO4 48V 24Ah

Yep, you will need a jackshaft Your desired 14T>50T/14T>47T will have final ratio of 11.99:1 So with 4k RPM in the motor, the wheel RPM will be 333RPM, with 24inch tires (on 18inch wheels) will have 23,8MPH

    Water cooled car alternator

Or you can try a more easier solution, like the YT user Kouvpasir, that used a brushed controller and made it like a boost paddle for their kid's kart: ggnNzUkGSPI

    Water cooled car alternator

If you really want to connect the field weakening to the speed, one (more complicated but automated) idea is to: Get a PWM controller with a digital meter for duty cycle or a PWM controller with a dedicated potentiometer, a microcontroller (Arduino), a way to sense the alternator RPM, digital...

    Water cooled car alternator

Hey, how would i know the best position for the sensors inside the alternator?

    Water cooled car alternator

Hmm, that "cogging"/"locked rotor feeling" i already saw before. YT user Enrengineering suffered from the same condition until his chinese no-name motor controller broken So he tried a 3-part miniseries to get the correct placement for the hall sensors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxB4py8-NN0...

    KHB - Project eTurd - 2000W - LiFePO4 48V 24Ah

Wow, nice! Do you have videos running with it? At least spinning it on the controller Is the alternator coupled to hall or light sensors?

I would also love to see a video of you showing the alternator starting up and revving

    Water cooled car alternator

That is an excellent news update, i always like to see alternator-powered builds going nicely But how much did it costed? (Controler+disk+sensors)

    Water cooled car alternator

Alright. From what i researched (not an expert, so bear with me please), light (the space between teeth on the disk) on the photosensor will give output 1, so the spaces are north poles. You need a cheaper phone with GPS and android, go to https://supermagnete.de and search for the Pole Detector...

Do your alternator rotor have 12, 14, or 16 teeth?
