    Stary Electric Skateboard disassemble (part)

First thing I did was calibrate the controller. No difference. Its definitely faster than the Benchwheel, but the Benchwheel has a much nicer ride and controller. The benchwheel is a nice carving board, the Stary feels a bit flat in comparison. I need to wear it in a little though. Braking...

    Stary Electric Skateboard disassemble (part)

Bit the bullet, and bought a Stary yesterday evening on Taobao. Delivery guy had already brought it by the time I got to work this morning, so pretty fast. < 24 hrs from order, to in my hands! They're not too far from me though - Tracking shows Collected / Shipped from Kunshan at 7pm, arrived...

    Stary Electric Skateboard disassemble (part)

Whats the speed like? I'm still riding my Benchwheel (over a year now), and have a hankering for something lighter or faster. I've been re-looking at the Stary, now its come down in price - 3399rmb locally, vs the MeiBacc dual hub carbon @ 3599rmb. The MeiBacc GT-M6 claims 33km top speed. It...

New chinese clone of STARY and INBOARD m1 board.

Tempted to buy one, the dual motor with extended battery is 4300 odd rmb. The reviews say the remote blows though. I have a benchwheel dual motor for +- 1yr already, warranty on that has been decent, they repaired once, although had to pay for battery swap at 11month mark as it was cutting out...

    You guys heard of Benchwheel?

LED lighting is the Benchwheel one. i.e. - https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.5-c.w4002-10540056717.54.XMySh9&id=522045533451 Its not the best solution, as it could do with a on/off switch, but works well. Just got to remember to unplug it, or you drain the battery. There are cheaper...

    You guys heard of Benchwheel?

Haven't had problems connecting mine up (other than the first initial sync, but that was more a case of me not being able to read the chinese manual too well). I wrote up an english manual with clearer instructions (see earlier in the post). If it does get low on power, it the skateboard turns...

    You guys heard of Benchwheel?

No USB port, but easy to add one with a DC-DC board. Dirt cheap in China, and easy to buy. Mounting will be fun though. At the moment, researching batteries. The ones in the unit are allegedly ICR18650-22P SAMSUNG SDI 1E93 2200mAh Its a bit of a push imho to claim 221W out of that. They use...

    You guys heard of Benchwheel?

Some shots with the LED light kit attached. Starting to feel more comfortable riding it, was going up and down the ramps at the local skate park earlier without too much trouble. I'm quite impressed with myself, as I'm an old fart  Battery definitely getting depleted faster...

    Electric skateboard Remote Controller

Its the controller that comes with the benchwheel. Feels decent enough, but the battery life could be a lot better < 5 hrs. The micro usb connector choice was stupid, really should have been the newer connector or lightning style connector. At least its only plug in once a day. It could also...

    You guys heard of Benchwheel?

I don't know enough to check if its sensored, I may take it apart and have a closer look next week, what should I be looking at? You don't need to kick off (unless its almost out of power).

Took a few photo's today - https://www.flickr.com/photos/sheedl/albums/72157658413710000 Video unfortunately didn't go as planned, my sjcam ("sort of gopro'ish") video cam decided it didn't want to play nicely, and stopped working for most of the day. I have some video, but still need to edit...

    You guys heard of Benchwheel?

Honestly, unsure. The thing is using 6S4P for battery config. Li batteries are usually 3.7V nominal voltage. 3.7V x 6 = 22.2V nominal. Not sure what the amp's are for the battery pack, I haven't opened mine to verify, but 8800mAh would work out at 8800mAh /4 = 2200mAh per series @ 22.2v...

Didn't get a change to go to west bund today, will go tomorrow and take some video's. As for why they rip off boosted. It doesn't look like its a direct clone, the undercarriage is different and the controllers / remote are different. May be inspired by, but its not a clone. Legally...
