E-Trike - need Ezee kit retailer and info

I had to go look up what "friction shifters" are. My question is, with limited dexterity and sometimes limited sensation, will I be able to use a friction shifter? With an index shifter, it's, well, INDEXED so I'm not going to miss the gear. But it seems like with friction shifters there must...

E-Trike - need Ezee kit retailer and info

It isn't available to me from there. Firstly, its across the border so that means custom duties are involved. And secondly, they're the vendor who blew off my questions. Seriously, they can't spend 10 or 15 minutes answering a few basic questions when I'm planning on spending a couple...

Newbie's project idea: 2 motors on my commuter MTB.

Going from 18 mph to 30 mph will only save you 15 minutes or so. If you beef your bike up to go that fast, it will no longer meet the legal definition of a road bike - eg it will no longer be road legal. Many multiple use paths have speed limits which are not always posted. Usually around 12...

E-Trike - need Ezee kit retailer and info

I'm getting a Lightfoot Sprite Trike which needs to be fitted with an EZee kit, but I have to buy all the e-stuff myself, and there are some things I am unsure of. I used to ride bike 30 - 50 miles a day, 3 to 5 times a week. However now I am disabled and have some balance issues. So the two...

I will never buy from BMSBattery again.

WHY? Terrible customer service is what I have experienced from them.

Need Suggestions for Modifying EBike SX to Higher MPH

Uhhh, no. According to Texas Statute: http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/TN/htm/TN.541.htm#541.201 Otherwise, it's a "motor-assisted scooter", and while you may not have to register it through the DMV - if you choose not to register it, you can only take it on roads with a speed...

Next ride must be a trike, how, what, and whose?

@docnjoj - I'm curious - the Lightfoot Sprite is $2980 base price - so it seems like the Sun was free? Or they paid you $20 to take it with you? LOL! Seriously the one I saw was the SX, like this one: http://sunbicycles.com/product_detail.php?short_code=EZ-TriClassic+SX&cl1=RECUMBENT It...

Next ride must be a trike, how, what, and whose?

Yes. Lightfoot Greenway 42" wide version. They don't come more stable than that. See above Depends on your local ordinances/bike path regulations - but those "twin strollers" are usually around 35" wide, so ... Lightfoot cycles, IMO. Lightfoots come with disc brakes on all 3 wheels...

Guru advice for super large rider

@Marty: Here's one manufacturer of electric pedecabs: http://www.coasterpedicab.com/ @OP - I think the folks at Lightfoot Cycles are your best bet. You need a custom build, and I'm pretty sure he's done builds for "super large riders" before.
