Quick update, used a balance charger to bring cell group 5 up to 4.2v. I disconnected the bms wiring harness used some breadboard jumper wires pushed in to the bms wiring harness to charge the group through the bms wires.
I let it rest overnight and measured the group at 4.191v while the rest...
Thanks for pointing out 3 and 4, I actually just typed those out wrong and did not realize. Double checked my hand written notes from when I was measuring and they were actually 4.20 not 4.02. I fixed the post.
I had thought about running wires from the Opus charger, but decided to just order...
OK let me clarify, when riding it gets to a point where when I apply throttle, the display turns off and the motor no longer receives any power. It does not automatically turn back on, I need to turn off and back on the power switch on the battery, then I can turn the controller back on. If I...
I do charge the battery fully, although it hasn't been used a lot or fully cycled many times since it was built. I will open it up and check how the cell groups are balanced later this week.
lots of great info on this thread. Building this battery was meant to be a lunching point and a...
no, I wanted to order a BT one but it was a lot bigger wouldn't fit in the case that I got with all the cells i wanted to fit. It was hard enough getting it closed up with the bms that came with the case.
it was almost a year ago that I built it, but I am pretty sure that I used the opus to...
As the title says, I built a battery pack 13s5p using LG MH1 cells salvaged from scooter batteries. I tested each cell on a Opus battery charger (on the 1A discharge setting) and they were all showing around the 3200mAh they are rated at, so it should be a 48V 16Ah battery. I built it to run a...
I have wondered this same thing about battery pack voltage. My understanding is that the controller takes power fromm the battery (lets say 72v nominal) and varies the voltage and current that it delivers to the motor depending on the throttle input and load that the motor sees. Most...
If i walk with the bike slowly 2 or 3 kmph it registers 15kmph. So it is picking up a signal from the hub relitive to speed, but it is way out of whack registering way higher than it should.
Looking at the programming manual there is
P1 = motor gear reduction ratio x number of rotor magnet...
I received all my parts, laced the wheel, built a battery, and finally have the bike assembled and in testing phase.
One issue I am having is that the speed display isnt working correctly (kt lcd5 display). It just jumps up to 79kmph and stays at that no matter what speed I am going. Could...
I am building a battery for the Reention Polly DP-6C battery case for 65 18650 cells that came with nickel plates. I didnt get any documentation on how to place the cells. Based on the nickel plates I have attempted to infer how the cells should be arranged in the holders. I got an image off...
That is a pretty good guess. Since this case doesnt have any usb port a version of the board with stepdown circuit/usb port omitted makes sense. Thanks,
I ordered a Reenetion Polly battery case and BMS for a diy battery build. I just received everything and on inspeciting the 13s BMS they provided with it I notice that a number of components are not populated on the board I received, but the picture of what I was supposed to receive shows the...
I have not received them yet. But I did just order a couple tab washers from ebikes.ca GRIN for $5 cad each since I needed to order a few other things from them (triple bob mount for downtube battery). They have the correct ones in their store under the "motor hardware" category.
