    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

IT is an old thread! Sorry I can't help. My ESP120's are still charging my LiFePO's happily. I am slowing moving towards a new circuit board and controller, but interested in others efforts before I dive too deep. Who else has working controllers they would like to share? I am looking to...

Cycle Analyst 2.X current sensing suddenly erratic

Thanks, I have contacted them. I am certain that the CA was disconnected from battery and current shunt when I drilled through the cable. In any case I had to resolder the wires onto the PCB, but very unlikely that I damaged something whilst performing this operation.

Cycle Analyst 2.X current sensing suddenly erratic

Gidday, I have a 2.Something Cycle Analyst that I use on my elecric car via a shunt. Has been all good until either: a) I swapped the polarity of the current sense (was reading backwards) OR b) I drilled through the five core wire supplying CA with power, ground, I sense and both speed sense...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

All right, a picture and some words. Feedback is greatly appreciated: https://github.com/spmp/LiFePO4-Charge-Controller/tree/VersionDeux I notice that for some reason I protected the Vsense pin with a Schottky diode to VCC, why? Is this faster/better than a zener? With a 1.1 Vref, then a 1.8V...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

aaah, oversharing... WHilst playing with my new cell top modules I managed to overcharge one cell all night. Now dead, 0 ohms, and slow charging didn't recover it. So there you go LiFePO4 is very sensitive 8( Anyway, more serious matters, I am re-doing this charger sooner than later and have a...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

I only need two ESP-120's to charge my batteries, so they live permanently under the passenger seat without too much drama ( other than salt air )... Actually Just answered a question for myself... "if only they were liquid cooled" maybe I could liquid cool them by attaching a copper tube to...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

@nedfunnell Cheers buddy! When I have tidied up the V1 github page I will get started with putting down the concrete design ideas and await feedback. If I am not back again within two months can someone hassle me?

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

This is bordering on Necromancy... But after many years of reliable service, my ESP-120 based charger has undergone major overhauls due to a number of factors, like the people I bought my batteries off giving me the wrong charging parameters to maintain warranty, two ESP-120's dying due to salt...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

I started a wiki page... should really be working so did not really do anything to it. Lets get all relevant content out of this thread and into it 8) https://endless-sphere.com/w/index.php/ESP-120

Amazing that 'the germans' respond so fast! Will be interested in how the >56V fix goes. I think we need a wiki page for these beasties, or are they a bit of a _has-been_ thing?

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

I have been using two ESP-120's as my car charger for aaages now and they are AMAZING! I was prompted by a PM to dig into what I did, so I have posted my code etc. on Github and will improve with images and actual documentation when time permits. I was very lucky to get the upper and lower...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

JoeG: Can you show a detail of how you bolted the connectors onto the PSU's please. I luckily came apon quite a few of the actual counterpart (female??) connectors, but unfortunatly without the complete frame there are issues holding them in place... so no easy solution 8) With only two PSU's...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

Cheers man, Thats the idea 8) And help would be appreciated to refine this to a really solid, extensible controller. I think the principle is at least sound. SOmeone on here was building their own controller and gave up, but had a really nice we GUI thing going on, maybe a frankensteins monster...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

Sorry I didn't write sooner, Firefox does not let me login on the forum for some reason... I have completed a pretty basic proof of concept to get the PSU's charging my car batteries. It does no error checking etc. at this stage, but has been working remarkably reliably for the last few...

    HP ESP120 48V (51.4V) 57A 3KW Server Supply Thread

Prototype board based on the schematics from the German site mostly complete. Now to fox the pwm->voltage (cap to small) and test the code. I can get more detailed photos of the inside if need be. Schematic+PCB+code etc available if wanted. Will document it all some time. 2x isolated i2c, 1x...
