well i have my phase set around 500 with battery amps limited to about 250 (18s32ah of 12c multistars) and it's night and day from stock obviously but very managable with proper throttle tuning. I've gone higher on battery amps testing with 20s 65-130c nanotechs (my phase on the 8000 is limited...
Not sure why he’s got it installed that way either, the controller has it’s cooling shroud facing in that way. Also, the 8000 is almost the same size as the stock controller and mounts very clean (even in the proper orientation). I agree that you don’t need more power than the 4000 puts out but...
im running the 8000 with 72v32ah of 12c multistar lipos and ride it daily, and hard. I only had one issue that Im attributing to heat where the controller was throwing a fault-hall-sensor error and would't spin up until it had cooled. Even for that though, I think it was the controller since I...
I don’t know who started the rumor that the ASI is hard to set up, you’re going to detonate your motor.... blah blah. I got the 8000 probably close to 6 months ago. Set it up in one day and just keep tweaking the configs for fun. I was worried about throttle control beforehand but then one day...
I ride trials, not mx and the surron is def a better bike all around. Upgrade the controller and batteries and you have infinite options for power delivery. I squeezed a 19x3.5” trials tire on the back. With the bike being on the smaller side, that rear paired with some 27.5 dorado forks and mtb...
Using the asi 8k that the lunanerds pioneered. I’ve tossed the bms idea around a lot but I don’t really trust them and for one that can handle enough amps I’m looking at $150 min. It sure is nice to plug and forget the stock pack. Speaking of, you can get tons more top speed from the stock pack...
iSo I stuffed 18s32ah in the battery box of multistars (6X4s16ah+2X6s16ah). They all fit barely (I slightly sanded down each side of the rear of the opening where the bolts protrude and its a tight fit but not enough to distort the cells. Initially, I was just running xt60s between the series...
Strava says I just did 50mph on a slight downhill with the 58t sprocket, 19x3.5 trials rear and 18s of multistars. Good fun but makes the stock pack less exciting.
And to add to that, I found 50 pads for $50 on ali express. Although you’ll run 4 pads per brake you are effectively upgrading to mt7. I’ve been running them on the stock rotors with no issue.
Has anyone tried any other controllers besides the asi yet???
i know initially they modified the BMS (in this thread) and used the ASI controller. figure still same asi controller plus maybe a battery upgrade? Amazing that the motor can handle (well, almost could... wonder if they figured out if it was the phase or not)...
Im waiting on the new...
