Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

I never have had more than two batteries in parallel or series so I have a question. If you have the 22S setup as listed above, will having mixed voltages and capacities be an issue?? Will the 4S 16K and the (3) 6S 16K batteries in series act as a single 22S battery and all four batteries...

Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

After a week of testing and spot welding 18650's, I have decided that the Multistar approach is the way to go. I have (1) 16000 6S doing a wonderful job on my 24V 500W hub ebike. I am waiting on two more 16000 6S to run in series for my 48V Bafang BBS02 750W. The whole 18650 project was a...

Identifying a single bad 18650 in series

I like that approach, I have an IR camera, and that should do it. Thanks again.

Identifying a single bad 18650 in series

Thanks for the replies. I see where I goofed when I said All cells in the series are spot welded to each other, I meant to say All cells in parallel are.... When I said I have a 3S10p built, the way I said it was a little confusing I guess too. I am building 10 cells in parallel at a time...

Identifying a single bad 18650 in series

I am building a 12s10p pack from 18650's salvaged from new laptop packs. The pack is constructed with simple pairs of ebay acquired spacers. I am charge testing every cell with an Opus BT-C3400 (excellent btw) and writing the capacity on the case. So far I have completed 3S10p of the build...

Turnigy Multistar 10C 10AH versus Allcell pack comparison

So, I balanced the Multistar 16000 6S back up and took my ebike for an easy 5.5 mile ride. All cells stayed within .02V of each other. I used ~ 2000maH with no voltage sag. This is a rock solid battery for my 24V 500W bike. Thanks icecube for your videos and drawing my attention to these...

Turnigy Multistar 10C 10AH versus Allcell pack comparison

For the sake of discussion, if there was a 3.7V "cliff" for Lipo batteries then you would think that all of the battery charger manufacturers would limit the discharge cycle to 3.7V instead of 3.5V or 3.0V?? I see what you mean on the graphs about a rapid voltage falloff at 3.7V. I have flown...

Turnigy Multistar 10C 10AH versus Allcell pack comparison

I just received a Multistar 16000maH 6S battery from Hobbyking. It was well packaged and no damage or distortion. Time for some testing. First, balance charged with a Thunder T610 Balance/Charger. Discharged at 1.0A to ~ 21.0V. First picture shows the battery "health" after the discharge...
