As I understand it (no actual experience here) geared hub motors have to have their gears rebuilt periodically. Whereas a gearless hub motor is probably going to be quieter and not need gear rebuilding. With a gearless hub motor you can still use the derailleur system you have, but not an IGH.

While actually classified as a medium size car, most folks consider most models of the Toyota Prius hatchback, a small car. I believe the Prius C is classified as a small car, and like most Prius' it is a hatchback.

There doesn't appear to be corrosion, and when I hook it up to a charger, it starts to count up before just stopping. It might still have some charge. But it sounds like if I can't get it fixed soon, it will be toast. Not really what I want to hear, but I do appreciate your honesty. Mike
