New LifePO4 Battery Made From Non-Toxic Materials Abundant In The Earth’s Crust
http://www.lockergnome.com/news/200...toxic-materials-abundant-in-the-earths-crust/

Nothing new really, just a bit of a laymans review w/a little history of the development of LiFePO4.

One quote:
"Sud-Chemie, a leading specialty chemistry company based in Germany, first invested in Phostech Lithium in 2005. Now, just four years later, Sud-Chemie’s total Canadian investments have reached $13 million and it stands as the 100% owner of Phostech Lithium. Phostech’s St. Bruno plant began to produce LifePO4 in 2006 with 20 employees and a 400 metric-ton capacity. Since then, Phostech has nearly doubled its staff."

Interesting to see that Phostech Lithium actually sells three grades materials that they label LiFePO4P1, LiFePO4P2 and Li4Ti5O12 (Lithiumtitanate...)
Now I wonder which grades EVeryone is buying to make our badderies?

Hi Mike!
Nice looking cells and packs!
Any links for Kayo, the Japanese company?
Also, which Phostech product do you use please?

Personally I am interested in a pack form factor that looks more "cassette"... shaped more like a notebook (laptop computer) as long, flat, rectangular... I see you sell your cells individually, so, BMS boards also?
tks

This is something I've suspected and worried about for quite some time, that we are assuming our batteries really are the much safer lifepo4 when they are not as pure and will actually burn/explode if pushed. Marketing from HK or CN, always takes advantage of what the consumer assumes. We think lifepo4 is safe so they find the lowest grade they can technically still call "lifepo4".

Just like Chinese math, 1.2ah x 14 somehow magically equals 20ah because the original theoretical rating on a cell was 1.4ah.
