I haven't come across many reports of BYDs catching fire or exploding online until now. This raises a question: Are we sacrificing quality for the lower price of Chinese electric vehicles? Although some of these cars may be attractively priced, they often face significant quality concerns, such as safety defects like unexpected fires, faulty airbags, and structural issues.

Even the best battery makers can have problems. As a Chevy Bolt owner, I can speak from experience. LG is one of the largest, and most respected battery makers, and they had fires in several different legacy car brands.

Farasis has made batteries for Zero for over a decade.

I have some of the LG cells that were available after the huge recall of several EV brands. They had some kind of manufacturing internal short problem on a very small percentage of them which were causing some fires.
