I have too many projects so i bought a Super Soco CUx. It’s a nice little scooter, quite small and nimble. EU regulated, 45kph max and something like 2kW.

I wanted to have something that just works. Guess what, it doesn’t, after two months of unmodified legal riding.. Fkn hell! This is shorter time to fail than anything i’ve ever built.

When i try starting it (battery fully loaded and automatic breaker on) it only flickers the lights and lcd for a few seconds at most. Anyone recognise this issue and the fix?
I would guess it has gotten water somewhere, even though it’s stored under roof, before the vacations it ran just fine.

Only thing off before this was that the power would dip occasionally during riding, enough to notice but not enough to be annoying.

I searched the forums and didn’t find much useful, alarm unit breaking on some socos and the battery connections seem to have issues, bms breaks (like they normally do after a while)..

Sounds like a good candidate for re-conversion with DIY parts if it's got that many troubles.

Good luck!

I guess that (as usual) only people with problems post so that the issue percentage is small, but there seems to be more than the normal share of simple issues like poor connections.

It’s probably because it’s not premium parts under the covers but still a lot of electronics (with gps, alarm, digital lcd, key fob etc.).
As an example the battery connection goes to an xt90 for current and what seems to be a simple unshielded JST for the communication.

Let’s see what the dealer will do, i’m still covered against warranty issues and faults.

The whole point of getting this scooter was to avoid making efforts to mod it. Now that is more open 😄
It’s both a blessing and a curse to see the possibilities!

Oh.. you thought you could buy something properly designed and just ride it.. 😅

I took the battery to a dealer, turns out that battery is under voltage, in three weeks storage not connected to anything, there’s got to be a faulty bms. I’ll get a new battery on warranty.

The confusing thing was that the battery showed full on the indicator so i never measured it 😃

That was exactly the cause I was about to suggest after seing you mentionned that it was stored for 3 weeks.
It's very common especially for the bikes that are equipped with alarm systems. The bikes that don't have alarm systems installed can last for months.

That's one of the reasons why I don't install alarms, they tend to ruin batteries on everything (happened on my car as well).
Next time maybe try to disconnect the battery entirely when you know you won't be around for a while.

It was actually disconnected, i guess either bms was faulty or a cell group had issues.

I agree on the alarm, been thinking about removing it, especially since users have been reporting issues with it.
