    Battery issues

Try leaving the charger plugged in overnight and check the battery voltage in the morning. If that doesn't work it may be that the battery pack has been discharged below the point where the Battery management system will allow the pack to be charged. There are ways to charge the battery...

Building a LiPo pack with high discharge (burst 300A) and BMS

15Ah is pretty small for a motorcycle. You should be able to find 22V 8ah 30C LiPo packs at Hobby King, or maybe even larger now, I haven't checked in a while. 4 of those packs (2P, 2S) will give you 16Ah 44V. (52V at max charge). That should give you a max of 480A. That's 300A with some...

How do i work out the range at 17 amp 58 v battery pulling a 1000 watt hours

And if the motor is really pulling an average of 1000 watts the entire time, and you have 900 WH available, then you can ride for .9 hours at whatever average speed it's pulling an average of 1000 watts at. That's 54 minutes which is probably realistic in your average riding environment.

How do i work out the range at 17 amp 58 v battery pulling a 1000 watt hours

If the motor is rated at 1000 watts, it's not going to draw that amount all the time, so I'm going to throw that out the window. I'm going to take a WAG by estimating 20 wh/mi. This is assuming that you are just cruising along and not going up big hills or making jackrabbit starts or riding at...

Spare parts E-BMX Build "Deathbike Junior"

Ordered the taps to clean out the crank arm pedal threads and the aforementioned cheese-free pedals. Plans for a new faster e-bike to replace this one for the kid are solidifying. I'm going to use my old BMC "600 watt" motor and its Crystalite controller with an existing inexpensive steel...

Spare parts E-BMX Build "Deathbike Junior"

According to the speedo on the bike he's got close to 300 miles on the bike so far. Top speed is now down to about 13 MPH, so the ol' Ping is slowly losing juice. The latest failure is that the left pedal completely stripped out the threads and fell off. I have never seen anything like that...

Because you are a student we are trying to help you learn. Redraw your schematic to show that you are using one power supply instead of multiple power supplies. Now do you see it?

    Converting B'twin Bike to Electric

If either input and output are shorted together it won't work. That means it's not isolated. Do you understand why that is a problem? Just google "isolated buck converter" for an explanation.

    Converting B'twin Bike to Electric

At the very least, don't tie the input [-] to the output [-] ! You should be able to read the Buck converters technical specs to see if they are isolated.

    Converting B'twin Bike to Electric

As you noted you are sharing a 12V power supply between all of the buck converters. This means that all the input + and - are tied together. If, as shown in your drawing the - side of the output is ties to the - side of the input, this will mean that all the - side outputs are shorted together...

    Schwalbe Tire's

I'm using the Schwalbe Fat Frank 26" tires on my gigantic street ebike, with heavy duty slime tubes and like how they roll and ride. I haven't had any flats, but then I don't have a lot of road debris or evil spiny plants to contend with. Warren

How good are the BikeE recumbent bikes at high power / high speed?

Right, part of it's the 16" front wheel. Small wheel are much more susceptible to road cracks, potholes, etc. Another part is weight distribution. A CLWB is very rear biased. Generally front brakes stop you better than rear ones and a lightly loaded front wheel is going just slide in an...

How good are the BikeE recumbent bikes at high power / high speed?

I don't recommend CLWB (compact long wheelbase like the BikeE) format bikes for high speed applications. Long wheelbase or a suspended SWB bike would be better. For instance there is a Performer Goal currently for sale here: http://recumbents.com/forsale.asp...

    Are my Li-Mn batteries toast?

Sorry I missed that the pack was deeply discharged. LiMn cells are very forgiving. I'd suggest opening the pack to see if there is a BMS and if so bypassing it to get it at least recharged to the point where the BMS can be used again. The pack may not perform as well as it did.

My RC Mid Drive with Single Stage Reduction

Here are my notes on Delta vs Wye from my RC Drive page: Builders of RC Motors Motor drive trains have to pay attention to the wiring. RC motors have 6 power wires coming out of them, one set of wires for each two windings. These need to be arranged one of two ways, "Delta" or "Wye". Generally...

    Bolt failure - damage

It looks to me like the bolts weren't long enough and came loose because not enough threads were engaged into the hub motor shell. With all those spacers you may need longer bolts. They should be screwed into the hub about 1/2". You should be able to use that loose bolt to check that. If the...
