    new/used battery compatability?

Thoughtful helpful remarks; Looked into the NC 2806. Good to know 1st hand that the noise isn't problematic. I'm guessing that without a new controller, the NC '06 would cost the same as the batt. Yet with present 25amp controller, I'd lose 2-3mph, so there's the trade off; another $110 for...

    new/used battery compatability?

Russell, top speed with present 48V 25a controller is in the 21-23mph range. I generally pedal in 6th gear (of 7) at 19mph to minimally assist the motor at around 90% throttle. Oh yah yah, series or parallel, a flashlite multiplies V in series, somethin' like that, thanks, I ought to know ...

    new/used battery compatability?

I've enjoyed my 48V e-bikes. They provide modest hill climbing torque, allow me to pedal assist a bit, and run as far as needed at 20mph. Love to cruise 20 as a decent crash years ago taught me that old bodies don't heal well, sometimes not at all. Yet out in AL, where I spend summers...

    Kick Stand Solution?

Inexpensive, adjustable 2nd stand. I worked some epoxy in the parts where it attaches to the frame.

    1,500 mi Lith(ni-mn-po) battery review

Yep, still loving and grateful for my e-bikes. I've over 3,500mi on my C-lyte 409 36V "itselectric" lith-ion battery. It still matches my high gear pedalling to Community College with no noticeable change in performance. Last spring I would average 4-5 trips per week. Yet this fall...

E-bike-kit.com's rear 9c kit showed today.

Excellent StudE, I've yet to see a non-biased report for this hub motor. What battery and controller are you using? Is it a 2806 or 2807? Some folks say it's not silent, is it noisy just under loads, or at certain speeds, or all the time? May you be truly productive in the coming days!

    received Ping bat today!

Yeah, yeah, I know, I jumped the gun, yet with their delivery history, I have a right to be paranoid  Two mail ladies showed up in delivery van, had me sign for the package again, smiled, apologized and handed me a triple packaged Ping battery. You could've thown the box off the roof of...

How do YOU measure your speed?

Used to pedal bike rollers indoors to train for cross country stamania biking. I know an 80rpm cadence like a marathoner knows their efficiency pace. Cross reference that with my gearing info. and Sheldon Brown's (God rest his soul) gear calculater and botta botta bing! High gear is spot on...

    received Ping bat today!

Bakersfield, California, Zip 93308, mail route #806 May 13, 2009 In 2007, U.S. Postal Service was as anyone would expect it. One time, my church offering check got mixed in with the monthly bills and it was delivered to my church a few days later without a postage stamp! Then during the...

Fitness, Nutrition, and the wonderful world of E-bikes

Yep, knowing I'll be pedaling easy for 20min, to classes, rather than strenuously for 30 min. makes my e-bike "primary transportation." Lost my license (medical) and love my newfound biking indepedence. Fifty-three, slender, strong, and free. Only death can stop me

Ever been chased by a dog while riding your e-bike?

Are you kidding, I learned to deal with dogs from my bike as a kid throwing a paper route. Now I vacation every summer in the country in NE Alabama. Country dogs love bicyclists, see 'em as fresh meat. I've tamed 5 or 6 dogs with a 4oz. can of spray maice. One spirited dogger dodged my spray...

    Will this controller handle 48V?

Thank you dogman, didn't know the BMS handled the cutoff. The 36V assist is working as planned, however I'm riding twice as much as anticipated and at times feel "STIFF!" Another 4lbs torque and 3mph sure looks sweet :D I'll delete this post in a few days! (OK, I'll leave it up.)

    Will this controller handle 48V?

I need more torque and hope to buy a 48V Ping an' just plug it in and ride. Yet I've lost info on my controller, the sticker fell off and it's just a little black box, not much bigger than a pack of cigarettes. I know it's rated 35 amp for a brushed motor only. No problems presently running...
