    bluetooth BMS?

For a more accurate current reading you can also remove these two small resistors: https://cloud.botox.bz/s/2ipzTsJNWQ222TH (disregard the big one) They divide the shunt voltage in half, the shunt resistor value is already way too small if one reads the datasheet recommendation for the TI ADC...

    Bafang BBSHD Error 30

Error 30 is a generic communication error. So basically your display is not getting a response from your motor, are you sure it is even working at all? Your programming cable is trying to send something but doesn't seem to get an answer either. So either something is wrong with your wiring or...

DIY 14S10P lasercut full wooden enclosure/cell holder

Status update: Sadly ran out of time, can cut the remaining 4 pieces (2 plates x 15min) next Thursday. The cells hold super well, they need like 5-10kg of pressure to get in. So I'm not even gonna glue the wooden sheets together, no need.

mislabeled BMS ! what to do?

In the first picture I can see B- on the bottom left, P- in the middle and P- on the right lol. Second picture B- matches, P- matches and the second P- is C- there. Could you take the cover off and make another picture? The current shunt resistors should be at B-.

DIY 14S10P lasercut full wooden enclosure/cell holder

It's an interactive 3D viewer from autocads fusion 360, here's a screenshot: Air circulation is a moot point when the battery will be in an insulated bag, air also has worse thermal conductivity than wood. But as said the cells will not get warm at 1C max, more like 0.3C cont. I'm actually...

DIY 14S10P lasercut full wooden enclosure/cell holder

It's a 60W CO2 laser so I'd only be able to cut very thin sheets of this material at slow speeds from the info I found on the net. Might make sense to use this as the first and last sheet if I can source it easily.

DIY 14S10P lasercut full wooden enclosure/cell holder

After thinking about different ways to build my 14S10P triangle battery for my BBSHD hardtail I arrived at the following design: https://a360.co/2Utuo6G I have access to a lasercutter at uni and am planning to cut the shape from 4-8mm poplar plywood sheets and glue them together to form one big...

If you read the reviews on banggood it sounds like they're actually selling the fake unit lol.

    150 Watt load tester

The Aliexpress vendor I linked sells the original unit according to a few forums/youtube videos and the reviews on aliexpress. I'll let you known when I get mine, should be here in a week or so.

    150 Watt load tester

I actually ordered one two weeks ago here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/150W-Constant-Current-Electronic-Load-60V-10A-Battery-Discharge-Capacity-Tester-ammeter-voltage-meter/32725711985.html Should arrive soon, it seems to be very accurate for the price.

automatic assist level based on slope. Anyone do this?

Yeah, you can't really use the Bafang PAS if you want to go slow. That's when I turn it off and use my legs only with some throttle maybe, HOWEVER they frocked up the throttle on their latest motors *!@?! -> https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=93977 A torque sensor would be great...

What is best ebike lighting available?

I've got a BT40S on the bars and a Yinding on the helmet, it's great for off-road riding. But most of the time I'm driving on the street or bike path with trafic, so I have to turn off the helmet light and aim the bar light way down on lowest settings. At that point they become pretty shit and...

What is best ebike lighting available?

Check out this light: https://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=1055278 Don't have any personal experience with it but I want to order one. I'm in Europe though so to save some shipping and lots of taxes I'll wait for a friend to fly over and take the light with him.

automatic assist level based on slope. Anyone do this?

I feel like this is the case with the PAS from Bafang mid-drives and proper programming. The set assist level determines the speed the motor will maintain. Example: You set the motor to PAS level X which is 30km/h. You pedal at your usual pace which by itself would move the bike at 25km/h, the...

    High Voltage DC/DC Converter Suggestions?

Using a AC PSU that also accepts DC is a good suggestion. You should take a look at these ICs for cell monitoring: https://www.analog.com/en/parametricsearch/11532 if you haven't already found something

Hacking "JBLTools" Chinese Bluetooth BMS boards

The main motivation was to make a custom battery for my Xiaomi M365 scooter. The stock BMS of the scooter talks a proprietary protocol to the motor controller, and without the battery talking to the controller the scooter does not work (and doesn't display battery stats on the display / app) If...

Hacking "JBLTools" Chinese Bluetooth BMS boards

I don't quiet follow why you did this. The BMS has a port for connecting the battery -> B- Then a set of discharge FETs and a discharge port after those -> P- Then another set of FETs which are used to control charge current and a common discharge/charge port -> C- So if you want to bypass the...

Anybody ride with a BBS02 mostly unpowered?

On my BBSHD the motor/rotor is not spinning when pedaling. You can clearly feel and hear it when pushing the bike backwards however.

Anybody ride with a BBS02 mostly unpowered?

I was driving around with a BBSHD and no battery for a while, there is no resistance from the motor when pedaling. However the motor does add some weight to your bike and you're missing a lot of gears, I had to climb a slope by driving zick-zack with my bike :D

    BBSHD model confusion

I'm fairly that they are both identical except for the programming. Basically always get a programming cable with a BBSHD so you can tune the settings to your liking. In the tool you can also change the current limit and set it to the maximum (30A).

VESC suitable for a heavy person

Why not go with a focbox or FLIPSKY FSESC 6.6? The 6.6 should hold up much better, especially with FOC @ 12S and the kind of currents you are intending to run it at.
