    Good point...could just be a small extra winding on the secondary w/ diodes to power the switching FETs...........I wonder if that might be the reason for the "unused winding" in the original configuration ????? For that matter...might just couple the switching freq right off that winding as...

    Slow going w/ everything else happening around here.....but here's a shot of the proto board to be mounted in the heat sink...next step will be to transfer the primary side components set up as input current (ie. power)control....I think the fuse is going to double as the current shunt....we'll see

    That would be great....... Also ...here's a shot of the first 8 of the UPS batteries that have checked out as good....2 more to go...should be here by Friday...these are a real bargain if they have anything near the original capacity...we'll see !

    Update: the load of USP takeouts arrived ! 2 were damaged in shipment....2 more on the way......no prob w/ the vendor...we'll see if Roadway will make up the shipping diff.! These AGM's are the same age as the Gels that are in the car (if it ever gets here) but have always been kept charged...

    The (small) gel-cell I'm trying to revive is not making much progress..........the pulser (30V pulse) only got the curent up to 1 microamp and no residual voltage.........the adjustable constant current supply (130V) got the current up to 70 microamps and a rsisual voltage of about 2 volts this...

    Can't add much info as my yard tractor is long gone.......BUT......I remember that I needed (and had to make) two 100+ pound cast concrete wheel weights on the rear........no reason not to replace that weight w/ heavy batteries.........could be 4800WH right there !
